2026 Champions Cup final on the men’s side will be like many SSL finals before, the battle between IBF Falun and Storvreta IBK. These teams continue to the final after beating their Czech contestants in the semi-finals.
Tatran Stresovice v Storvreta IBK
In the second semi-final, Tatran Stresovice faced off against Storvreta IBK, who had already secured victory in the first semi-final. For Tatran, a win in regular time was essential to force overtime and potentially reach the final, while Storvreta only needed a draw to advance.
The match kicked off with Tatran taking an early lead, as Patrik Sebek scored at 03:41. However, as the first period progressed, Storvreta began to find their rhythm. Gabriel Kohonen equalised, and just one second before the end of the period, Hampus Nydenfeldt put Storvreta ahead.
The second period saw Storvreta maintain their momentum, with Nydenfeldt scoring again and Filip Eriksson adding to the tally. The sold-out UNYP Arena witnessed Tatran struggling to keep pace, but Simon Vavrousek provided a glimmer of hope by narrowing the deficit to 2-4. In floorball, a two-goal difference can quickly change, and Tatran still had a chance.
However, their aspirations for the final were dashed in the third period. Otto Weidman extended Storvreta’s lead to 2-5, and Nydenfeldt completed his hat-trick, making it 2-6. In a last-ditch effort, Tatran pulled their goalie and managed to score once, but two empty-net goals from Storvreta sealed their fate.
Ultimately, Storvreta IBK emerged victorious with a final score of 9-3, securing their place in the final. A notable highlight for Storvreta was that ten different players contributed to the scoring in this match, showcasing their depth and teamwork.
IBF Falun v Florbal MB
In the second semi-final, IBF Falun faced Florbal MB, with Falun having already secured victory in the first semi-final. A draw was sufficient for Falun to advance to the final, while Florbal MB needed a win in regular time to keep their hopes alive.
Despite a disappointing loss at home in their previous match, Florbal MB started strong. Captain Milan Tomasik opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, followed by goals from Adam Hemerka and Joakim Lund, putting the visitors ahead 0-3. However, Falun soon found their footing, with Lukas Rosenklint scoring a stunning goal to bring the home team back into contention. Ahmad Dakhallah added another for Falun, and the first period ended with Florbal MB leading 2-3.
Florbal MB continued to press in the second period, with Simon Stransky scoring twice to extend their lead to 2-5. It took nearly the entire period for Falun to capitalise on their chances, but Jonathan Berglund finally found the net at 39:58, narrowing the gap to 3-5.
Entering the final period, Florbal MB aimed to maintain their lead and keep Falun at bay. However, Patrik Burman of Falun had other ideas. He scored two quick goals, both assisted from the opposite side, bringing the score to 4-5 at 45:45 and then equalising just two minutes later at 47:45. These marked Burman’s first goals in this year’s Champions Cup.
The match concluded with a final score of 5-5, allowing Falun to progress to the final, where they will face their Swedish rivals, Storvreta IBK.
