On January 7, 2026, the 2025 “Three Star Awards” ceremony was held at the Riga Circus, celebrating the exceptional athletes of the past year in Latvian sports. The Latvian Men’s National Team received the prestigious award in the “Sports Team/Professional Sports Club of the Year” category.
In December 2024, Latvian men’s team achieved its best result in history by reaching the semi-finals of the World Floorball Championships for the first time, ultimately finishing in 4th place and breaking the long-standing dominance of the top four teams in the world of floorball. Their impressive performance at the WFC 2024 also secured their qualification for The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, where they finished fifth. This remarkable success earned them the title of Sports Team of the Year, marking a significant achievement for the sport of floorball, especially considering the previous winners in this category.

The “Three Star Award” is an event organised by the Latvian Sports Administration to determine and award the best athletes and sporting events of the year in Latvia. The award has existed under this name and in a new format since 2020.
