The champions of the 2026 Champions Cup will be crowned on Saturday, January 24th 2026. The men’s final takes place in Falun, Sweden and the women’s final will be played in Ostrava, Czechia.
Sweden are the most successful country in the Champions Cup history and, Pixbo’s victories in both the women’s and men’s categories in 2025 only underscore this dominance. This year, three out of four finalists come from Sweden: Thorengruppen, Falun, and Storvreta. The Czech Republic provides the sole exception with Vitkovice. Only Swedish club teams have ever been crowned champions in the women’s competition, and in the men’s, the Swedes particularly Falun and Storvreta, dominate the statistics. Falun have won five Champions Cup titles, Storvreta three, and Thorengruppen two on the women’s side. This makes Falun the most successful club in Champions Cup history.
Women’s final
19:00 CET 1. SC Vitkovice vs Thorengruppen IBK at the RT Torax Arena in Ostrava, Czech Republic
Vitkovice will host the final on their home soil, hoping to break the streak of Swedish teams winning the title. Vendula Berankova, Nela Sikorova, and Nikola Prileska were part of the Czech team, that took home silver medals at the Women’s World Championships. Interestingly, Prileska will be facing her national team colleague in this final, as Jana Christianova now represents Thorengruppen. These two were each other’s biggest supporters during the home World Championships, but this time, they’ll need to rely on their club teams for that extra push.
Thorengruppen are two-time Champions Cup winners and five-time champions of the Swedish Super League. Although Sweden did not perform as well as usual in the World Championships, nor did Finland, the TTG players remain a significant threat and are clear favourites for this game. Veera Kauppi was named the world’s best player by Innebandymagazinet for the fifth time, while Maja Viström took third place and Oona Kauppi eighth. Linn Larsson, a recent World Champion, is also in the team and the defender is definitely ready for the final.
So, can Vitkovice challenge Thorengruppen with the support of their home crowd, or will Thorengruppen add yet another title to their collection?
Men’s final
16:00 CET IBF Falun vs Storvreta IBK at the UW-Tech Arena in Falun, Sweden
Storvreta IBK and IBF Falun are longstanding rivals in Swedish floorball, frequently clashing in major finals. Their encounters are often dubbed the “Battle of the Giants,” characterised by a history of intense, high-scoring games and championships on the line. In the 2025 SSL final, Storvreta triumphed with a 6-2 victory, claiming the title of Swedish champions for the third consecutive time. The teams last met in the SSL on 21st November 2025, where Storvreta again emerged victorious, this time with a score of 5-4.
Falun are chasing their sixth Champions Cup title in front of their home crowd. One of their standout players is Malte Lundmark, who was placed fourth in the world’s best player list, the only Falun player to make the cut. Lundmark is also the top points scorer in his team, with 41 points from 17 games (23 goals and 18 assists). Emil Ruud is another player to watch, also shining in the scoring charts with 36 points, 19 goals and 17 assists.
Storvreta are top of the table in the SSL, one point ahead of second-placed Falun. Sakarias Ulriksson was named the world’s best player earlier this month, becoming the youngest player ever to receive the award. He is second in the SSL points scorer list with 46 points in 17 matches (27 + 19) while his teammate Gabriel Kohonen holds the top spot with one point more. A total of three players from Storvreta featured on the world’s best players list, with Ondřej Němeček and Filip Langer also included, Němeček in second place and Langer in 10th.
Can Falun add another Champions Cup title to their tally, or will Storvreta be the ones celebrating on Saturday?
