To mark the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace – celebrated annually on April 6th – Peace and Sport is calling on the international community to mobilise and raise a #WhiteCard. The 2026 #WhiteCard campaign is built on a simple principle: providing access to sport means protecting children’s futures.
The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is celebrated each year, having been established in 2013. The #WhiteCard campaign, created in 2014, has already reached over a billion people. For over a decade, #WhiteCard has been a symbol of peace through sport.
The 2026 #WhiteCard campaign is based on the simple belief that providing access to sport means protecting children’s futures. Because participating in sport can help children develop today and build more peaceful societies tomorrow. Currently, 251 million children are out of school. Protecting sport is protecting their future.
IFF Athletes’ Committee members raise their #WhiteCards

The IFF Athletes’ Committee are seizing the opportunity on this important day to raise their #WhiteCards, recognising the role of floorball and the importance of this year’s theme: the protection of children.
“The floorball community stands together through the #WhiteCard campaign, using sport to bring people together, support peace, and keep kids safe. 🤍” Agata Plechan, IFF AC Chair
“Every child deserves a chance to learn and grow.” Julija Rozite
“Every child deserves the chance to play, grow, and belong – sport makes it possible.” Andrea Vitali
“I raise my #WhiteCard because sport gives children more than a game – it gives them safety, skills, and a future. Let’s make sure every child has access to that through an inclusive and supportive floorball community.” Lara Heini
“We must continue to promote access to sport.” Josefina Eiremo
“On the court, we compete. Through floorball, we unite.” Jon Hedlund
How the IFF is Contributing to Development?
- By creating new forms of play, such as 3v3, starting floorball is made easier, even without dedicated infrastructure.
- Floorball is easy to play almost anywhere, and there are different variations of the sport.
- The IFF provides a Youth Start Kit and a “How to Start” guide to help get the sport going smoothly.
- In addition, the IFF is preparing new digital and video-based “New Player” and “New Instructor” materials so kids can practice floorball independently.
- There are regional development projects underway in South America, Africa, and Asia.
