Day 3 at the 3v3 WFC 2026 was filled with emotions and tension throughout as the playoffs and 3v3 WFC 2026 concluded in San Lorenzo de El Escorial with a Swedish tint, as both the Men and Women’s team took home 3v3 Gold and for the first time Sweden are 3v3 World Champions!

Starting off bright and early on a Sunday the quarterfinals kicked off day 3 and the dream run of the Spanish women fell finally to the Swiss in a tense, tight 1-0 loss. Elsewhere Sweden continued their dominance with an easy win against Thailand before overcoming stubborn rivals Finland who gave the Swedes their toughest test of the 3v3 WFC so far with a close Semi-Final. Switzerland progressed through to the Semis against Latvia in a game with changing and flowing momentum throughout. Despite being down a goal with 2 minutes to go, 2 late goals secured an improbable comeback win for the Swiss and sent them back to the final as they looked to reclaim their 3v3 crown yet again after last year. Despite having some difficulties in the semi-final the team of the tournament, Sweden Women, were again dominant in the final as the supreme talent of Maja Vistrom, Ellen Rasmussen, Mathilda Ekenlinde & Lisa Carlsson helped Sweden to a big 7-1 win and 3v3 gold for the first time. Bronze went to Latvia who defeated Finland in the bronze medal match.
In the B-Finals Hungary rode their positive energy and vibes to victories against Czechia, and Ukraine in the final to end their tournament on a high and the B division trophy.

On the men’s side Day 3 was rollercoaster with penalty shots having to separate two decisive matches as Switzerland defeated Hungary in the quarterfinals and Latvia overcame Germany in the semis in nailbiting finishes to the matches. Spain had their dream run ended in the quarters to eventual bronze medalists Germany who themselves had a dream run ending with their first ever WFC medal as they narrowly edged out defending champions Switzerland in the bronze medal match. Sweden like their female counterparts were again ruthless throughout as they outfought rivals Finland in the quarters before making it look simple and easy in the semis against the Swiss as they faced off against Latvia in the Gold medal match. For the Latvians they were made to work in the quarterfinals against Slovakia and semis against Germany as the team from mainly Rubene drew on their experience and togetherness to reach the final just as they did 2 years ago in Lahti. In the final Latvia took the lead early before a swift Swedish reply. Despite how strong Sweden have been throughout the competition Latvia gave them one of their toughest tests and matchup but it was the supreme talent of the Swedes that put them back on top of the world and a first ever men’s 3v3 WFC gold with a 4-2 win in the final.
Also the B-division was a real intercontinental battle as Singapore and Poland faced off in the final with Poland winning on penalty shots to claim the Men’s B division final
San Lorenzo de El Escorial was a wonderful host for the first ever standalone 3v3 WFC and with the passion and support of the local town and Spanish floorball community it will be a 3v3 WFC to remember for many more weeks and months to come. Sweden leave with Gold around their necks and 2 trophies on the flight home whilst many more leave with fond memories of a truly unique floorball event.
