Slovakia cruised to a 14–0 win over Thailand in their second Group A match, controlling the game from the first minute to the final whistle.

Lenka Cervena (3 goals, 2 assists) and Nikol Drabekova (3 goals) led the scoring, with Zuzana Mrazova adding four assists in a standout playmaking role. Slovakia’s attack was relentless, finding the net in every period and keeping a clean sheet through disciplined defense.

Thailand worked tirelessly but struggled to break through Slovakia’s structure, as the European side maintained a high tempo and spread goals across nine different players.

Men’s Group A – Sat 9 Aug – Chengdu, China
Sweden 11 – 1 Philippines

Sweden overcame an early scare to post an 11–1 victory over the Philippines. Sweden lead the match 2-0 after first period and with a penalty shot given to the Philippines, the captain Lucas Enaje opened the score for his team. Enaje was also awarded for his 50th international match. After taking a narrow 2-1 lead midway through the second period, the Swedes shifted into high gear, scoring nine unanswered goals.

Malte Lundmark (1 goal, 4 assists) and Albin Sjögren (1 goal, 2 assists) orchestrated the offense, while Sakarias Ulriksson and Oskar Hovlund each netted twice. The Philippines struggled to contain Sweden’s depth and speed in the final period.

The win keeps Sweden on track for a strong group-stage finish, while the Philippines will aim to regroup for their next outing.

Sweden claimed an important Group A victory, defeating Switzerland 7–3 in a fast-paced contest. The Swedes jumped to a 2–0 lead in the opening minutes, but Switzerland fought back to level the score early after those goals.

Wilma Johansson proved decisive, scoring a hat-trick and adding one assist, including the game-winning goal early in the third. Emelie Wibron and Ellen Rasmussen also found the net, while Isabelle Gerig, Seraina Fitzi, and Doris Berger scored for Switzerland.

With the win, Sweden stays on course for a top group finish, while Switzerland will look to rebound in their next match.

Women’s Group B – Sat 9 Aug – Chengdu, China
Finland 3 – 2 Czechia

Finland edged Czechia 3–2 in a tightly contested Group B clash at The World Games 2025. Czechia struck first through Sarka Stankova in the first period and doubled their lead via Karolína Stujova, but Finland mounted a determined comeback.

Veera Kauppi ignited the rally in the second period, followed by Sofia Mittentag’s equaliser in the final period. Suvi Hämäläinen then netted the game-winner with under six minutes to play.

The victory keeps Finland unbeaten in the group stage, while Czechia will look to bounce back in their next match.

Men’s Group B – Sat 9 Aug – Chengdu, China
Finland 8 – 2 Czechia

Finland delivered a dominant third-period performance to overpower Czechia 8–2 in their Group B encounter.

Czechia started strongly, with Filip Langer netting twice in the opening period, but Finland stayed in touch through goals from Juuso Ahola and Joona Rantala. The final frame saw the Finns explode offensively: Sami Johansson, Luukas Hyvärinen, and Ahola all scored before two empty-netters from Ahola and Waltteri Vesterinen. Finally Hyvärinen sealed the emphatic win.

With this result, Finland strengthens its push for a top group finish, while Czechia will aim to regroup ahead of the next match.
