2025 National Youth Floorball League Successfully Concludes: Writing Youth Glory in the Name of Passion
The 2025 National Youth Floorball League (Southwest Division) was successfully held in Chengdu during The World Games from the 9th to the 10th of August.
Co-hosted by the Handball, Hockey, Baseball and Softball Sports Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Hockey Association, operated by Beijing Cross-roller Co., Ltd., and meticulously organized by Chengdu Speed & Vitality Sports Culture Communication Co., Ltd., this event built a professional platform for young floorball enthusiasts across the country to showcase themselves and pursue their dreams.
The scale of the event set a new record for the divisional competitions of the national league, attracting around 600 players with 46 teams from all over China to participate actively, covering four age groups: U15, U12, U10, and U8. During the intense competitions, all participating teams completed a total of 113 matches, each filled with passion and perseverance, fully demonstrating the vitality and competitive spirit of young athletes. From careful preparations in the midsummer to the successful conclusion in autumn, this venue witnessed countless touching moments.
Young athletes interpreted their love for floorball through running and wrote the courage belonging to youth by getting up resolutely after falling. Regardless of the outcome of the game, their figures sweating on the field were the brightest stars. Every sprint and every pass highlighted the power of youth.
Coaches and refereeing teams guarded the fairness and justice of the competition with professionalism and strictness. They were not only organizers and judges of the event but also illuminators of young peopleās sports dreams. With professional knowledge and rigorous attitudes, they ensured the smooth running of the event, allowing every athlete to display their true abilities in a fair environment. The full accompaniment of parents was the most solid backing for their children.
Every ride to and from the venue, every word of encouragement, became the warmest support for the young athletes to move forward bravely. A tribute to the unsung heroes behind the scenes: from workers setting up the venue in the early morning to the medical, security, and volunteer teams, their silent dedication built a safety fortress for the event, ensuring its smooth progress with meticulous care. Gratitude also goes to the partners. Their trust enabled the successful implementation of the event, and their strong support contributed to the vigorous development of youth floorball.
Floorball celebration continued in China even after The World Games the National Youth Floorball Championship was organised in Xiamen in the following weekend.

Xiamen Continues Floorball Fever, Youth Tournament Takes Forward The World Games Vigor
The passion on the sports field of Xiamen (also known as “Egret Island”) is continuing the warmth of The World Games in Chengdu. From August 15 to 19, the 2025 National Youth U-Series Floorball Championship successfully concluded at the Xiamen Haicang Sports Center.
This tournament, covering all school-age groups from primary school to senior high school, is a vivid echo of TWG that concluded on August 13. Before the applause from the international sports field had fully faded, the vitality of the youth sports field has taken over the baton, outlining a complete development path for floorball in China – “from top-level competitive sports to youth cultivation”.
Athletes Gather to Continue Competitive Passion
From Chengdu to Xiamen, the popularity of floorball is deepening as it continues. A total of 59 teams with nearly 1,000 athletes gathered in Egret Island from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Hong Kong and other places. With fast offensive and defensive moves on the field and tacit cooperation in confrontations, they carried forward the competitive spirit of The World Games.
Moments such as the 7:4 opening victory of the U8 school team from Shanghai Private Pinghe School, the tactical proficiency shown by Xiehe Lieyan Club in the U12 group, and the friendly exchanges between Hong Kong teams and mainland teams all prove that the floorball passion ignited by The World Games is being passed on to a broader group through youth tournaments.
Rising Popularity Highlights the Sport’s Vitality
Inside and outside the venue, the power of communication keeps this passion growing. As the second National Youth U-Series Floorball Championship held in Xiamen, its rising influence has a solid foundation: the first edition held last year attracted the attention of many mainstream media, with a total communication volume exceeding 10 million. This year, as the attention to the sport continues to increase, the media coverage has reached a new high. Authoritative media such as CNR.cn, Xinhuanet.comĀ and Chinanews.com have conducted in-depth reports, while local media and social media matrices have joined forces to form a more three-dimensional communication network. This has allowed the influence of floorball to spread from the sports field to campuses and society. The continuous improvement of these communication effects not only confirms the solid progress in promoting the sport, but also reflects the growing public attention to youth sports events.
A deeper significance lies in the construction of a “pyramid”-style development ecosystem. The Xiamen tournament has set up separate competitions for school groups and club groups, sowing the seeds of love for floorball among more young people. As a relevant person in charge of the Chinese Hockey Association said: “The World Games have demonstrated the international height of the sport, while youth tournaments have consolidated the development foundation of the sport. The children who step out of the Xiamen sports field may become the new force of the Chinese national team in the future.”
Consolidating the Development Foundation and Outlining a Future Vision
From the peak showdowns at The Chengdu World Games to the youth swinging their sticks on the Xiamen field, the story of floorball is continuing to be written. When international recognition is transformed into motivation for domestic promotion, and when top-level competitive sports are connected to the chain of youth cultivation, this sport is integrating into China’s sports ecosystem with more solid steps. In the sea breeze of Egret Island, there is not only the aftertaste of a tournament, but also a future vision of how this sport will “go global” and “take root in China”.
