Finalists dominate the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2025 All-Star Team. Staňková becomes the first-ever Czech MVP!
The Women’s World Floorball Championships in Brno and Ostrava have come to an end. Alongside the medals, individual awards were also presented — and they were largely dominated by players from the two finalist teams. Šárka Staňková received two honours, earning a place in the All-Star Team and being named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Defensive strength proved to be the key factor behind Czechia’s historic first-ever appearance in the final. As a result, the tournament’s All-Star Team includes defender Nela Jiráková and, above all, Šárka Staňková, who combined outstanding defensive performances with an impressive scoring touch. In fact, she could have comfortably earned her All-Star selection as a forward as well. Also included is captain Michaela Kubečková, who scored the decisive goal in Czechia’s narrow 1–0 semi-final victory.
Switzerland’s run to the final was led by goalkeeper Lara Heini, who once again demonstrated why she belongs among the world’s elite. Her outstanding saves brought an end to Sweden’s 18-year unbeaten streak at the Women’s World Floorball Championships, and she delivered another superb performance in the final. The All-Star Team also features Isabelle Gerig, who ranked among the tournament’s top scorers throughout and captained the Swiss team to its sixth final appearance in history.
The final spot in the All-Star Team goes to Finnish superstar Veera Kauppi, who once again shone offensively and dominated the bronze medal match. During the tournament, she also broke Corin Rüttimann’s all-time goalscoring record at the Women’s World Floorball Championships, reaching a total of 64 goals thanks to 12 goals scored at this event.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER WFC 2025: Šárka Staňková
For the first time in history, a Czech player was named Most Valuable Player of the Women’s World Floorball Championships — and given her performances throughout the tournament, there was little doubt about the choice.
The defender from Kunštát near Brno, currently playing in the Swedish SSL for Kalmarsund, scored eight goals in the group stage alone. She netted four goals against Denmark and recorded a hat-trick versus Switzerland. She was also involved in the decisive goal in the semi-final and impressed the entire floorball community with her exceptional range of play, tireless physical output, and above all her composure and decision-making.
Fully deserving of the honour, she received the Golden Shoe Award.
