Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2027: Another Floorball Highlight in Switzerland

Switzerland will host the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships next year. From 19th – 23rd May 2027, the world’s best teams will compete for the title in Zurich and Winterthur.

The last Women’s U19 World Championships held in Switzerland took place in 2018. For 2027, the IFF has once again awarded the tournament to Switzerland after a nine‑year break. From 19 to 23 May, the world’s top nations will battle for the title in Zurich’s Saalsporthalle and Winterthur’s AXA Arena – two venues that have proven to be reliable partners in recent years and offer ideal infrastructure for international youth events. The group stage will be played at both venues, while the final weekend will take place in Winterthur. As in the past, the Canton of Zurich and the cities of Zurich and Winterthur are supporting the 2027 event by providing optimal conditions.

– We are delighted to build on the momentum in women’s floorball following the World Championship title and to invest in the next generation, says Andreas Cadisch, Head of Events at swiss unihockey.

-This tournament gives us the opportunity to offer young athletes from around the world a stage while further strengthening the fascination for our sport here in Switzerland.

With three World Championships within five years – the Men’s World Championships 2022, the Men’s U19 World Championships 2025 (including the 3v3 WFC), and now the Women’s U19 World Championships 2027 – the federation is consistently implementing its strategy of hosting major international events. The successful international floorball events held in Switzerland in recent years have impressively demonstrated the strong enthusiasm for the sport in the country. With the Women’s U19 World Championships 2027, swiss unihockey aims to build on these successes and once again create an unforgettable floorball celebration. At the same time, legacy projects will be further strengthened, with a clear focus on sustainably promoting women’s and girls’ floorball.
