October International Weekend was a showcase of women’s floorball. It was also the final “test” before the World Floorball Championships for 10 different national teams. Switzerland hosted and won the Women’s EFT that took place in Chur and Czechia took home the first place in the U19 Women’s EFT. Slovakia was victorious in the 6 Nations Floorball Challenge winning all their five matches. Both the Women’s and Women’s U19 EuroPower were dominated by Italy.

From the first day onwards, it was clear that this Women’s EFT in Chur would offer us surprises. On the first day, Czechia beat Finland 7-2, making this the highest ever victory for the Czechs against the Finns. Later that day, Switzerland won against Sweden 5-4. This was a historic result, as Switzerland have been able to win against Sweden only once before during the last 20 years. The Swiss continued their success story and the next day, they took a clear win against Finland, final score being 5-1. In the final match of the event, Switzerland lost against Czechia in penalties but secured the overall EFT win. This is the first time Switzerland have won an EFT event. Sweden took the second place after winning against Czechia and Finland and Czechia the third place. Finland lost all their three matches in the event and was left fourth in the final standings.

U19 Women’s EFT was more even when looking at the final results. Czechia took the first place in this event as they had better goal difference than Finland. They lost against Finland in penalties, beat Sweden 8-2 and won against Switzerland in penalties. Lucie Svajcrova was the top points scorer in the event and unstoppable with her creative penalty shots. Finland took the second place, Switzerland were third and Sweden fourth.
