The voting for the World Games Athlete of the Year 2025 has officially begun, and Filip Langer is in the running, representing floorball!
Voting started today and will continue until January 26th, at which point only the top 10 candidates will advance. To cast your vote, you must select two candidates: your first choice will receive 2 votes, while your second choice will receive 1 vote. Please note that if you do not choose a second candidate, your votes will not be counted.
Filip Langer led Czechia to bronze in men’s floorball at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, finishing as the tournament’s second-highest points scorer and earning a spot on The World Games 2025 All-Star Team. He is also a two-time Swedish champion with Storvreta IBK. We will soon be seeing both Langer and Storvreta in the 2026 Champions Cup final!
Voting Rules
Voting will take place on The World Games website, allowing a maximum of one voting session every 24 hours.
Each voting session must include two candidates:
- First choice: 2 votes
- Second choice: 1 vote
Votes submitted for only one candidate will not be counted.
On the 26th January 2026 at 12:00 GMT, the 10 highest-ranked candidates will move on to the final voting stage, at which point all vote totals will reset to zero.
Vote counts will be updated in real time throughout the campaign.
All voters are expected to uphold the principles of fair play in sports. The IWGA will closely monitor the voting process, and any irregularities will be thoroughly investigated. Actions that go against the spirit of sportsmanship may lead to appropriate consequences.
